Subject: Dr Jerry Hiura we miss you

Lucia and I became instant friends while working in Real Estate sales at Coldwell Banker in Los Altos. I had the privilege of watching Audrey and Larry grow up at that time into the wonderful adults that they’ve become. My first career path took me to UCSF Dental School where I studied dental hygiene and later became a lecturer and clinical instructor. I later met my husband, Ken Boyden, a Dentist with a practice in Sunnyvale. As our relationship became more serious, I moved to Palo Alto and took a job with Dr. Gregory Hiura, his father, Dr. George Hiura, & Dr. Terry Nakamitsu. Later on, after Ken and I got married and had our daughters, I decided to start a new career in real estate where I met Lucia.

Well, you can imagine my surprise when Lucia started dating Jerry, I found out he was a dentist, and then later discovered he was part of the amazing Hiura dental dynasty. The first time I met Jerry was when Lucia invited Ken and me to a Gala for the San Jose Discovery Museum. I instantly noticed their strong connection and his warm personality. I knew Lucia and Jerry found their soulmates.

Every time I had the pleasure of spending time with Jerry, I could see what a remarkable and caring person he was. Jerry was very talented and shared his gifts with his family, friends, his practice, and community. He touched so many lives and warmed our hearts. Sadly, he left too soon.

Sending love, Diane Boyden
